Where to start…
- Firstly, come for a tour as words and photographs won’t show the scale or atmosphere. We can organise these meetings for evenings and weekends. Just drop us an email.
- Next decide how much you would like to organise yourself – furniture, décor etc. We can assist with as many details as you need and just add them to your package.
- Finally, speak to the team, get your queries answered and book your date! A deposit will be required then payments throughout planning so helping with your budgeting.
The 17th Century Hall has been gently adapted with flooring, outside lighting, patio style heating and a bright ceiling so that the rustic ruin stands proud. It means that the large space can be used for a ceremony, drinks reception or the wedding breakfast or all of those elements.
We supply a fully stocked bar in the Hall and there is caterer’s kitchen for your chosen supplier to use including a small cooker and tall fridge. The Carriage House with log burner and sofas is available to use for colder evenings. There are also patio style heaters throughout the hall for use if there is a chill in the air.
We can offer advice on layout, managing the space on the day and the furniture or décor you would need, making it simple to plan yet perfect for your style.
The extensive gardens add magnificent variety to this stunning location. Imagine taking time to wander in the Faerie Glen or sitting on the terrace while taking in your wonderful celebration, full of friends and family. The restoration has included recovering the Stream Walk, building the Pig Palace and Rose Maze and creating a path to Captains Seat and the secret Princess face. Intrigued? Much more is planned including a Rabbit Warren!
From Spring 2016, the Hall and Carriage House will be registered for Civil Ceremonies. There is also the stunning St.Cuthbert's just up the road, walking distance from the gardens, who are happy to discuss your upcoming nuptials (available for any Christian denomination, by arrangement with the Rector).
If you like something quirky, how about staying in our Yurt on your wedding night? It’s equipped with a log burner, mini kitchen and comfy beds. There is even space for guest camping including shower facilities if they want to really take in the Kirklinton atmosphere! If not, we have special rates with local hotels available too. (To find hotels nearby, visit HotelsCombined or use the document below)
As a truly DIY venue, you will have the freedom of choosing your own catering, lighting, décor, etc. but if required we will work with each supplier to ensure your plans and ideas are brought to life.
Our wooden bar comes with helpful staff, ready to greet guests and make sure they have a wonderful time in the ruins. We endeavour to supply a variety of drinks including soft drinks. We are happy to ensure certain drinks are available if you supply a list in advance as we know everyone has different tastes! If you wish, we can look after your bottles for welcome drinks, table wine and toast fizz. This would be £6 per bottle and slightly more for glass hire (usually drinks are served in high quality plastic glassware for safety in the gardens).
Each package includes peace of mind in our DIY venue. An experienced Wedding Planner will be on hand to make sure that your plan of the day is on track, without you having to ponder or worry. We also include a consultation before the day to make sure we know your plans and expectations properly. Guidance can be given to assist with how to make your day perfect for your style and personality.
For exclusive use of the Hall and Gardens for a weekend, prices start at £3,360. We can organise any element that you dont wish to and create the perfect package. The venue comes with outdoor furniture, space for caterers, power & water access, loos, children's play area and use of the yurt! This elegant, atmospheric site can be adapted to suit you and ensure a truly unique and memorable event.
For your celebration, you can add your own style and personality to the Hall. Its a rustic, grand blank canvas with experienced wedding professionals to hand if required.
First step is dropping us a line and sorting a tour!
